My good friend and fellow photographer, Meg, and I went out for coffee like we normally do to catch up and in the middle of the conversation she says "I'm pregnant! Sorry I wasn't sure how to tell you without just coming out and saying it!" Ha! I was incredibly excited and happy for her and Max and when they asked me to photograph their baby's birth I couldn't say no! It was truly an honor to capture something so meaningful, so emotional, so raw and real. So of course, once sweet Nora was born I had the chance to photograph their new little family in their new little home.
Natalie Olive, welcome to the world. Your parents are trilled to have you. Congratulations again you two! She is absolutely beautiful.
"For all the things my hands have held, the best by far is you."
Oh the lovely Nick + Kaycee! I don't know if I have had a client as excited for engagement pictures as Kaycee was! She was so enthusiastic and I was so looking forward to getting the chance to meet them! Upon meeting and getting to talk further I got to see how truly special they are and how much love they have for each other. They both said that they just can't wait to get married and are simply looking forward to getting to call each other "Husband and Wife."
This was the first time using smoke bombs so we got to experiment with that and we definitely had some fun! Plus they just looked like models so they made it easy ;)
Earlier this winter Landon, Janna and I ventured out to Lake Nokomis for their engagement photographs. They brought along this amazing toboggan so we could go sledding! They simply enjoy being around each other and they would not stop smiling! I would say we made the best of the cold Minnesota weather and we were happy to see a few snowflakes during our session!
